its alright, i guess. it works but it forces you to get a subscription when you just started, so you cant even get to structuring sentences and grammar and such before you're blocked from progressing, but only using the free practice to learn katakana and phrases isn't going to stick for long, I already forgot like 3 of the katakana i learned yesterday because I didn't have anything to go off of beyond its appearance and sound. i also am a minor so like, i can't pay for the subscription anyways.

I really liked it and was consistent with the free trial. I liked the silliness of the story and it was teaching me things I didn't know before. But in practice sessions they'd randomly spring new words or phrases on me that I haven't practiced. I liked practicing speaking though.. It's not beginner friendly - you must have some idea of hiragana/katakana going into it. The subscription is too expensive and once the trial ran out I couldn't learn new things. I could only do the daily practice.

Wth, the music is SO LOUD. it completely drowns out the dialogue, and you can't turn it off without muting both. There's a setting , but it doesn't affect the stories segments/ tests, it's just blasting like before. and the sound effects are super loud & distracting, too. Which is a shame, because what little I was able to get through was good instruction & practice, and I like the focus on real world speaking & listening. I want to live this, but I can't even use it.
